Publishing
Andrew Chapman has worked in nearly every aspect of independent publishing for over 20 years. He is an award-winning writer and author of six books, as well as a nationally recognized expert in the business. As a professional speaker he has over 300 engagements to his credit throughout the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, including as a regular speaker at the annual Independent Book Publishers Association University in New York City. For the past seven years, he has served as president of Publishers & Writers of San Diego, one of the largest local-regional associations in the industry in the U.S.
College
Andrew's college experience placed him above 99.9% of the students in the country. After earning his Associate's Degree with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, he transferred to George Mason University and achieved the same for his Bachelor's Degree (in publishing and writing). Additionally, both of these degrees were earned in only three years while Andrew worked part time. From this experience, he distilled what he learned into a successful mini-book entitled How to Earn Straight A's in College (July Publishing, 2000). In it, he showed students that earning straight A's is not about being smart, but knowing how to manage yourself and your time. With Power Up Your GPA, Andrew has taken the content from his mini-book and built it into a full program available for purchase online and for academic, corporate, government, and non-profit organizations through customization and licensing opportunities.
Branding and Marketing
Aside from his publishing and academic experience, Andrew also spent nearly five years at two of the largest branding and marketing agencies in San Diego — Wirestone and The Townsend Agency. In both places, working as a editor, writer, and designer, Andrew developed a solid understanding of brand theory and was part of numerous branding teams for major clients such as Hewlett-Packard and WelchAllyn.
